About our Program

Founder of Norden Sturm German Shepherds, Danni-Ann Moran has had a passion for animals ever since she can remember. Spending her youth and early adulthood at the farm where she bred, raised and trained horses for Western sports such as Barrel Racing and Pole Bending. Also, working for a world class equestrian facility learning the ins and outs of animal husbandry and seeing the level of dedication and commitment it takes to compete at such esteemed events as the Olympics. Her love for German Shepherds was sparked by the resident farm dog Zoey. When Danni-Ann turned 18 she was determined to get her dream dog, a German Shepherd, this is when her passion for dog training began.

After watching friends train in IGP she decided to give it a go with her dog Roscoe. Roscoe is not from an ethical breeder, he has weak nerve, poor gripping behaviour and is not the dog someone would typically buy for this sport. While Danni-Ann was successful in titling him to an IGP2 and training him to an IGP3 where he unfortunately had to be pulled for an injury, training him made her extremely aware of how incredibly valuable ethical breeders are who complete necessary health testing, title and, assess their dog's temperaments before making any decisions about breeding them.

Vom Norden Sturm finds value in prioritizing their standards to produce working dogs with exceptional health, conformation, working ability, and temperaments. The top priority is to produce dogs that will thrive living in the home with your family and excel as a working or sport dog on the field. Vom Norden Sturm holds their expectations high for every litter produced and stays committed to finding the optimal breeding pairs by utilizing dogs in their own kennel as well as outsourcing to continue building on their female line. Vom Norden Sturm is a small breeding kennel only producing 1-2 litters a year while their main focus continues to be training and competing with their current and upcoming young dogs.
